Cooling solution
AES Maintenance was tasked with providing a cooling solution to meeting rooms throughout the building including one located on the top of the RAC Bristol building, the installation part of the project was not dissimilar to other installs apart from the location and in turn the H&S aspects, after exhausting all other options it was agreed that a crane lift was the only way to achieve the Clients request.
The project included the following items.
- Calculate room size v heat load to specify correct unit for each of the areas.
- Disconnect existing failed toilet extract fans and dispose, due to the location of these it was agreed to move the fans onto the roof area.
- A few survey visits to find best way to get equipment to roof area.
- Employing and managing the crane lifts.
- Modifying roof area to accept swan neck opening for refrigeration lines into tower meeting room.
- All Health and Safety aspects to the project
- Modifying panalled walls in office to accept wall mounted units and decorating to suit.
- Connecting toilet extract fans to main BMS head end.
